Today, July 28, 2023, first 5G network came to live in Uganda from MTN, one of the leading telecommunication company in Africa. It’s obvious now that MTN Uganda has answered many people’s question regarding “when is 5G coming to Uganda“.

MTN Uganda has the country’s largest telecom subscriber and they’re estimated to 15million users. Hence, MTN Uganda 5G Network is a big move for the telecom company to provide fast and reliable network for 5G phones in Uganda.

MTN 5G is one of the best 5G network in Uganda. The next generation 5G network is delivering the fastest data speed in a ultra-low latency or response time. Additionally, MTN Uganda 5G is increasing reliability, and greater network capacity.

However, the MTN 5G network is not yet available to all cities in Uganda. According to CEO of MTN in Uganda, Sylvia Mulinge said the telecom company’s aim is to have full 5G coverage in the capital Kampala by the end of 2024. He also stated that in the next two years, all its base sites in major cities would also be converted to 5G.

Currently, MTN 5G network is only available in base sites of Kampala at Lugogo and Bugolobi areas. The 5G technology has incept a new investments, innovation, and position Uganda as a digital hub in the east Africa region.
